Pre-school

From age 4 years old to age 6 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 6 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and serve refreshments to guardians.

Children learn to read, spell and write simple words. They will be able to understand, ask, and answer questions about themselves. Vocabulary includes numbers. colours, shapes, days, months, seasons, common nouns as well as adjectives and verbs.

Minimum to no Japanese is used in the lesson. Materials include Read and Write Inc Phonics flashcards and worksheets, and Floppy's Phonics. Homework is optional. No textbook is needed.

Guardians may participate and help their children if desired.

Pre-school

Elementary school grades 1-3

From age 6 years old to age 9 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 8 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and serve refreshments to guardians.

Children learn to read and write simple sentences, and read simple story books. They will be able to understand, ask, and answer questions about everyday life. Vocbulary includes numbers, colours, shapes, days, months, seasons, common nouns as well as adjectives and verbs.

Minimum to no Japanese is used in the lesson. Materials include Read and Write Inc Phonics flashcards and worksheets, and Floppy's Phonics. Homework is given. No textbook is needed.

Children work cooperatively in pairs or small teams on activities designed to prepare them for EIKEN as well as develop skills in English conversation. If students join as pre-school we expect them to pass EIKEN 5 by grade 3.

Guardians are welcome to observe the classes.

Elementary school grades 4-6

From age 10 years old to age 12 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 8 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and serve refreshments to guardians.

Children learn to read and write simple sentences, and read simple story books. They will be able to understand, ask, and answer questions about everyday life. Vocbulary includes time, foods, animals, nouns and adjectives, prepositions, adverbs and verb tenses. They will learn grammar and word order Subject Verb Object Complement Adverbial (SVOCA).

Minimum to no Japanese is used in the lesson. Materials include Read and Write Inc Phonics flashcards and worksheets, and Floppy's Phonics. Homework is given. No textbook is needed.

Children work in pairs or small teams on competitive activities designed to prepare them for EIKEN as well as develop skills in English conversation. If students join as pre-school we expect them to pass EIKEN 3 by grade 6.

Guardians are welcome to observe the classes.

Junior high school

From age 12 years old to age 15 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 8 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children. Children work in pairs or small teams on activities designed to prepare them for EIKEN, school English speech contests, and school English tests. They study spelling and grammar and develop skills of listening and speaking using a variety of methods and resources including games, interactive technology, and a native speaker of English

Minimum to no Japanese is used in the lesson. Materials include Read and Write Inc Phonics flashcards and in-house materials. EIKEN past papers are also used. Homework is given. No textbook is needed.

If students join by elementary school grade 1 we aim for EIKEN 2 before high school. High ability elementary school students and less experienced first grade high school students may also join these classes.

Guardians are welcome to observe the classes but it is unusual.

Senior high school

From age 16 years old to age 18 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 8 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children. Children learn to express opinions about a range of topics and develop skills of independent speaker at B2 Common European Framework. Lessons involve students describing their latest news since last week then a class lesson on the theme of the day, either grammar or vocabulary, and then by level to prepare for EIKEN, IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, school speech contests and Center Enlgish Test for university entrance, according to student needs. Previous students have passed EIKEN at level Pre-2, level 2, level Pre-1 and level 1, and succeeded in the Center Test and University entrance tests of University of Tokyo, Medical University of Bucharest, Hiroshima University, City University, Okayama University, Kobe City University of Foreign Studies and more.

Guardians are welcome to observe the classes but it is unusual.

College and university

From age 18 years old to age 21 years old. Minimum class size, 2 students. Maximum class size, 8 students. A female Japanese staff member is always present to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the students. Students will express opinions about a range of topics and develop skills of independent speaker at level B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework. Lessons involve students describing their latest news since last week and then a class lesson on the theme of the day, either grammar or vocabulary, and then by level to prepare for EIKEN, IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, according to student needs. Science students may also learn research methodology, experiment design and statistics. Students may also practice making PowerPoint presentations using our in-house technology. Previous students progressed to overseas university study, including medicine in Hungary, art in Germany, and Geology in England.

We can help your child prepare for EIKEN test grades 3, Pre-2, 2, Pre-1, and 1 by distance learning. By using the Internet, we can send study materials, along with instructions on test taking strategies, for your child to complete at home and return by email. Our staff will mark the student’s work and give feedback for improvement. This service is available to students that register with our school as Open Learning Students and who do not attend classes. This service is also available as an extra option to those students that attend classes and desire additional supplementary training.

IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL

We can help your child prepare for EIKEN test grades 3, Pre-2, 2, Pre-1, and 1 by distance learning. By using the Internet, we can send study materials, along with instructions on test taking strategies, for your child to complete at home and return by email. Our staff will mark the student’s work and give feedback for improvement. This service is available to students that register with our school as Open Learning Students and who do not attend classes.

SCIENCE

We can help college / university students develop skills in research methodology, experiment design, statistical analysis, psychology, and more by distance learning. By using the Internet, we can send study materials, along with assignments for students to complete at home and return by email. Our professional trained staff will mark the student’s work and give feedback for improvement.
